Mr. Hutchison is a licensed clinical social worker in mental health (LCSW) who is also certified in addictions and PTSD. He is the Clinical Director of Anchor Behavioral Associates where he is also in private practice. He has spent more than 25 years practicing therapy for adolescents, adults and couples. Mr. Hutchison has extensive education, training and experience in providing Brief Treatment that is compassionate, understanding and tailored to the needs of the client.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety , and addictions. These include such life problems such as alcohol, drugs, food issues of binge eating, bulimia, gambling, sexual addiction including internet porn addictions. Generalized anxiety, panic attacks, phobias; communication skills; relationship problems; chronic illness/pain; sexual abuse; and life transitions.
My approach to therapy is derived from several theoretical areas, e.g., Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Brief Treatment and Interpersonal therapy. When underlying issues from early life appears to sabotage life advancement and happiness I will help the client resolve these issues. Cognitive behavior work assists clients to manage self-defeating thoughts, beliefs and behaviors and teaches new ways to perceive themselves, others and circumstances. Effective coping skills are taught along with communication skills, self-care, problem solving and symptom relief techniques.
